Applying the art of Interview

Monday, October 1, 2007

As one of our activities in News & Feature Writing, we have to interview somebody we know using the art of interview. Honestly, nkalimutan ko tlaga ang araw sa pag-interview kaya nagkandarapa ako sa paghahanap na ma-iinterview nung araw n un. When I caught sight of my grade school buddy, without any second thought, I approached her and convinced her to be my interviewee. Thank God ang baet ng kaebigan kong un at hindi nya tinanggihan ang pag- interview ko.

When were in the room, I got excited of doing the interview that I totally forgot to apply the basic principles of interviewing. So from course shifting, our conversation jumped to family matters (nawala sa focus..hehe). pero sinagot nya lahatng maayos ang mga tanong ko. After the interview, we both just laughed. We were the goofies kasi back in grade school kaya ako, bilang nag-iinterview, nkalimutan tlaga ang pag-aaply ng mga prinsipyo.

Here’s the feature article that I wrote. I myself is not sure if its really an article, kaya kayo nlang po ang humusga..^^

Academic Course Problem
Having a hard time dealing with numbers and having poor results in her projects were the factors why Jade Grace, a 2nd year student in Xavier University got frustrated with her course in Computer Science. When she could not take it any longer, she decided to shift to Education majoring in English.

Education they say is the pathway that leads a person to a good future. College as the last level is the most serious part that a student must be more diligent with his/ her studies. One problem that can be cited when a student reaches College is choosing the right academic course. It’s not easy taking up a course especially if one doesn’t have any interest with it. Not only that a person will have a hard time but also, his/ her mind will always be bothered. Causes of the problem might be the course is not the person’s choice but from his/ her parents, one doesn’t have not yet decided what course to take up or one is not really that serious with his/ her studies. In most cases, students having this kind of problem stop studying or stay long in College. While others followed what they really wanted and that is what Jade did. Despite the fact the she will go back to basics (freshman year) and a new set of difficulties will come along her way, she would gladly deal with all of it. As for her parents, they still and will always support her.

Problem in choosing the right academic course is neutral among college
students. However, a student having this problem should discern on the matter
and do something with it.

The extraordinary training in badminton

…ana lang na tin, high lobe, drop, high lobe nsad, drop nsad…things that our team captain say to me whenever we practice. Kaya ang bata, ensayo ng ensayo..

2 weeks before the intramurals is usually the period that I lose pounds and nauubusan ng allowance. Its not because of the “no class- no study so laag in the mall and gasto kwarta” attitude of mine but the fact that I and along with other badminton athletes of the college undergo a training in preparation to the game. So after my classes in the afternoon, kung wala ng meeting or any school activity, I proceed immediately to a badminton court n pag-eensayuhan namin to work out our weaknesses. Usually, we spend 3-5 hours of non- stop practicing.. talk about calorie-burning activity!

Hehe..^^ When I get home, it would probably be 12 or 1 AM in the morning already at dahil sa sobrang pagod, wala na akong ganang kumain so I prefer to sleep directly..(-_-)..

The good news of the training is that I could really prepare myself for the game. The bad news nga lang is my allowance is totally affected. Why? Every time we practice, I get to spend 50 pesos for the court and the shuttlecocks. We practice 4 times a week so, 200 lang man sad akong gakagasto… huhu total bankruptcy! (-_-)

I don’t ask an additional allowance from my folks because I don’t want to add their financial problem. But despite of everything, I enjoy playing because from badminton, I gained new friends and it really helps me with my diet.. ahaha..^^
